What Meta Muse is, and what it does well
Muse is Meta's bet on the personal agent. You give it a goal in plain words and it works through the steps on its own, and Meta's launch post lists sending email, booking travel, using a browser, filling in forms and negotiating on your behalf. It keeps going after you close the app, comes back when it needs your decision, remembers what you tell it, and forgets a specific detail when asked.
Muse deserves real credit on several fronts:
- Reach. Muse lives inside WhatsApp as well as its own app. Sensor Tower counted 10.9 million downloads in its first 40 days and 2.5 million daily users on October 16.
- Protected shopping. Purchases run through Link by Stripe, which issues one-time card numbers, so Muse never sees your real card.
- A second agent on guard. An agent called Sentinel must approve any traffic Muse sends to the internet. Muse asks before it sends an email or buys something, and keeps a log of past and planned actions.
- A real free tier. Meta expects most people to stay on the free plan. Its paid tiers add more usage rather than extra features.
For a US household that wants help with travel, groceries and bills, that is a strong package. The questions start when you live in Europe, or when the inbox belongs to your job.
Is Muse available in the EU or Europe?
Not yet. Muse launched in the United States on September 8, 2026 and reached Canada on September 18, and on October 20 TechCrunch still listed those as its only two countries. Meta's help center calls Muse a limited test that is not yet available in all locations, and Meta has named no date for the EU or the UK.
History suggests patience: Meta AI, the company's chatbot, reached the UK about a year and the EU about eighteen months after its US launch, and an agent that reads your mail and acts on it raises harder GDPR questions than a chatbot does.
The paperwork matters too. Under GDPR Article 28, a company that lets a vendor handle personal data needs a written processing agreement with it. None has been published for Muse, and no EU data-residency option has been announced, so a European business cannot simply point Muse at an inbox full of client and employee data.
Muse privacy, in Meta's own words
Meta has put real work into Muse's design. Each user gets a dedicated cloud machine, passwords and card details stay out of the agent's view, and Meta says Muse chats are not shared with its ad systems. Three points still matter:
- Training is on by default. Axios reported that your interactions train Meta's AI models unless you turn the setting off.
- Meta can still reach the data. Meta's own security write-up says the isolation does not stop Meta from accessing data when needed to operate, secure or support the service. For now, that protection rests on policy, not encryption.
- The private mode is not here yet. A Muse Confidential VM, locked with a key only you hold, is promised before the end of 2026. On October 20 it was partly built in the web app but not launched.
Muse for business: what the small business launch adds
On September 29, Meta brought Muse to small businesses. The update links Muse to Shopify, Slack, Asana, QuickBooks, Stripe, Klaviyo, Notion, Zoom and more, plus Instagram analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts. It is free with usage limits. Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without your approval, though owners can later pick Always allow.
That genuinely helps a solo shop owner, but it is not yet a business product in the usual sense. An eesel review found it is a set of skills inside Muse, not a separate plan, with no team plan, per-seat pricing, admin roles or published DPA. Each plan ties to one Meta account, and the Gmail and Outlook connectors each hold a single mailbox. A team that shares an inbox will hit those limits fast.
Where Usenti differs
Usenti doesn't book holidays or buy groceries; instead it does one job in depth: the email, meetings, calendar and to-dos that fill a working day. Its assistant, Donna, reads all of it and does the work.
1. Built in Denmark, with data kept in the EU
Usenti is incorporated under Danish jurisdiction, with Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency, as its lead supervisory authority. The database is hosted in the EU region, and the meeting notetaker records in Frankfurt by default. Usenti holds a data processing agreement with every sub-processor and publishes the list, so you know who touches your data before you connect a mailbox.
2. Your content is never training data
Mail, messages and transcripts reach an AI model only to produce a result for you, and they are never used to train, tune or evaluate models. There is no setting to hunt for, because there is nothing to opt out of. Usenti sells a subscription and nothing else, so your inbox doesn't feed an ad business.
3. A human presses send
Reversible actions, like creating or moving a to-do, run immediately and come back with an Undo button. Anything that can't be taken back, such as sending an email, deleting something or cancelling a meeting with attendees, appears on a card with the real recipient and the actual words. It runs only when you press the button, and email bodies count as untrusted data, never as instructions, so a crafted email can't make Donna act alone.
4. Made for the work inbox
Connect Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail, AWS WorkMail and any IMAP inbox, as many accounts as you need, plus Slack and Microsoft Teams. Mail is sorted in real time into categories like To Respond and Awaiting Reply, and draft replies follow the tone you use with that particular person, in the language the message arrived in.
5. Meetings, calendar and a daily brief
The notetaker joins Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Slack huddles, posts a notice saying whose notetaker it is, and writes notes in the language spoken, Danish included. One calendar covers Google, Outlook and Apple, with booking links that never double-book you. Each morning Donna briefs you on your calendar, inbox and to-dos, and she answers in whatever language you use, by text or by voice.
6. Priced per person, built for teams
Usenti costs $45 per user per month after a 14-day trial for a one-time $1, with Enterprise pricing on request. Shared boards and shared calendars let a team plan together.
The core difference: Muse is a personal agent that runs errands across the web for one Meta account. Usenti is a work assistant for the inbox, calendar and meeting room, with a Danish controller, EU-hosted data, no training on your content and a human click on every irreversible step.

Who should choose which
Choose Muse if you live in the US or Canada, want one agent for travel, shopping and bills, like using WhatsApp, and are comfortable with Meta's data practices. The free plan makes it easy to try.
Choose Usenti if you are in Europe, or work with people who are, and the job is your work inbox, meetings and calendar. It fits a company that needs a processing agreement, EU-hosted data and a promise that client mail never trains a model.
Some people will use both: Muse for life admin at home, Usenti for the inbox at work.

Frequently asked questions
Is Meta Muse available in the EU or Europe?
No. As of October 20, 2026, Muse is available only in the United States, where it launched on September 8, and in Canada, where it followed on September 18. Meta has given no date for the EU or the UK and has published no EU data processing agreement for Muse. Usenti is incorporated in Denmark, keeps its database in the EU region and is available across Europe today.
How much does Meta Muse cost?
As of October 2026, Muse has a Free plan with weekly usage limits, Power at $20 per month and Maximum at $100 per month. Paid tiers add usage, not features, and a payment card is needed even for the free plan. Usenti costs $45 per user per month after a 14-day trial for a one-time $1. It has no free plan.
Does Meta Muse train on my data?
By default, yes. Muse interactions can train Meta's AI models unless you turn that setting off. Meta says Muse chats are not shared with its ad systems, and it has promised a Muse Confidential VM with a key only you hold, but as of October 20, 2026 it had not launched. Usenti never uses customer content to train, tune or evaluate AI models.
Can I use Meta Muse for business?
Partly, for small businesses in the US and Canada. Muse for Small Business, announced September 29, 2026, adds connectors such as Shopify, Slack, QuickBooks and Stripe. It runs inside a personal Muse account, with no team plan, no per-seat billing and no published data processing agreement. Usenti is billed per user and built around company mailboxes, calendars and meetings.
Does Muse ask before it sends an email?
Meta says Muse checks with you before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase, and a separate Sentinel agent must approve what Muse sends to the internet. Business owners can later choose Always allow. In Usenti, every send, delete or cancellation with attendees waits on a card showing the real recipient and words until you press the button.
What is the best Muse alternative in Europe?
For work rather than errands, Usenti. It brings Gmail, Outlook, Zoho Mail, AWS WorkMail and any IMAP inbox into one place, adds a meeting notetaker that runs in the EU (Frankfurt) region by default and a unified calendar, and gives you Donna, an assistant who drafts, schedules and briefs you. It is incorporated in Denmark and supervised by Datatilsynet.
